Responsibilities

  • Assigning and coordinating purchasing duties to maintain optimal supplier relationships, procurement efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, including market analysis and purchasing strategies.
  • Monitoring supplier contracts and order schedules to ensure timely procurement, address supply chain disruptions in real-time, and maintain seamless operations.
  • Managing inventory levels and purchase planning to minimize shortages, reduce excess stock, and optimize procurement costs.
  • Ensuring compliance with company procurement policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing guidelinesto guarantee ethical and lawful procurement practices.
  • Training new purchasers on supplier negotiations, procurement processes, and contract management, while providing ongoing evaluations to support professional growth.
  • Communicating purchase updates, market trends, and key sourcing information to team members to assist in strategic procurement decision-making.
  • Maintaining a professional, organized procurement system to ensure alignment with business objectives, financial goals, and supply chain efficiency.
  • Supporting management with reports on supplier performance, cost savings, and procurement strategies to drive continuous process improvements.

Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role, ideally in a fast-paced, business-driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, supplier management, contract negotiation, and market analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively, ensuring timely procurement and inventory management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to negotiate with suppliers, resolve procurement issues, and optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Ability to remain calm and make strategic decisions under pressure, particularly when managing supply chain disruptions or urgent purchasing needs.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including periods of high demand, to meet business procurement requirements.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset to ensure smooth procurement operations and meet cost-saving and efficiency goals effectively.
