Responsibilities

  • Assigning and coordinating Resident Assistant duties to support community building, maintain resident satisfaction, and ensure smooth daily operations, including event planning and resident engagement.
  • Monitoring resident needs and schedules to address issues, provide support in real-time, and ensure timely intervention.
  • Managing room assignments, community spaces, and event planning to optimize resident experience and minimize disruptions.
  • Ensuring compliance with housing policies, university regulations, and ethical standards for a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Training new Resident Assistants on conflict resolution, resident support processes, and community-building activities, with ongoing evaluations to support professional growth.
  • Communicating updates, housing information, and event schedules to residents for smooth operations and engagement.
  • Maintaining an organized, professional system for resident management, ensuring alignment with university goals, student well-being, and housing policies.
  • Supporting management with reports on resident feedback, community engagement, and operational strategies to drive continuous improvements.

Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in residential life, student support, or community engagement roles, ideally in a university or student housing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of conflict resolution, resident engagement, event planning, and community building.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively, ensuring resident satisfaction and smooth housing operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support residents, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive living environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and make strategic decisions under pressure, particularly when handling emergencies or urgent resident needs.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, to meet the demands of resident support and community events.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset to ensure a positive and efficient living experience for all residents.
