Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with healthcare policies, insurance guidelines, and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Training new team members on referral processes, patient communication, and handling sensitive information while providing ongoing evaluations to support professional development.
  • Communicating referral status updates, patient needs, and key healthcare provider information to relevant departments to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
  • Maintaining a professional, organized system for managing patient referrals to align with organizational goals and ensure optimal patient care.
  • Supporting management with reports on referral metrics, patient outcomes, and areas for process improvement to enhance referral operations.

Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a healthcare setting, ideally in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
  • Strong knowledge of referral management processes, healthcare provider networks, and insurance verification.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively, ensuring timely patient referrals and coordination of care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives.
  • Ability to remain calm and make strategic decisions under pressure, particularly when managing urgent referral needs or addressing delays in patient care.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including periods of high demand, to meet referral coordination requirements.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset to ensure smooth referral operations and optimal patient care.
