Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is an integral part of the financial operations and offers the opportunity to work in a refined, service-oriented environment with exposure to all aspects of management.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Employee Administration
· Manage and process weekly payroll with a high degree of accuracy
· Prepare payroll reports and journal entries
· Administer employee reimbursements, stipends, and retirement plan contributions
· Maintain payroll-related schedules, including seasonal compensation and bonus structures
Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
· Oversee invoice processing, approvals, and timely vendor payments
· Maintain vendor records, including compliance documentation
· Ensure proper general ledger coding and tax compliance
· Reconcile vendor statements and corporate credit cards
· Prepare annual 1099 reporting
· Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax reporting
Accounts Receivable
· Process daily member payments and deposits
· Batch and record member checks and transactions
· Support account inquiries and adjustments as needed
General Accounting & Operations
· Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
· Prepare and post journal entries
· Maintain accurate accounting records and schedules
· Process daily transactions and member account adjustments
· Support annual audit preparation and documentation requests
· Assist with budgeting and financial system updates
· Provide administrative and accounting support to senior leadership
· Order office supplies and support general administrative functions
· Provide backup support to Controller (mail, phones, payments)
· Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and controls
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline preferred
· 2+ years of accounting experience; payroll and accounts payable experience strongly preferred
· Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a professional, deadline-driven environment
· Familiarity with Certipay, Timeco, or similar ERP Software
