Responsibilities
- Overseeing daily custodial tasks, ensuring facility maintenance runs efficiently and meets cleanliness standards.
- Assigning and coordinating cleaning duties among staff to maintain high productivity and hygiene standards.
- Managing scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts and cleaning needs.
- Addressing real-time custodial concerns and resolving any issues that arise during daily operations.
- Monitoring cleaning supplies, equipment, and resources to ensure smooth workflow and minimal disruptions.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, health regulations, and safety procedures.
- Training new custodial employees and providing ongoing performance evaluations to support professional growth.
- Communicating updates, expectations, and key information to custodial staff to maintain efficiency.
- Maintaining a professional, organized, and clean work environment.
- Supporting upper management with reports on custodial performance, maintenance challenges, and facility cleanliness improvements.
Skills & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a custodial or maintenance role, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills, including familiarity with scheduling, inventory, or maintenance management software.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively in a cleanliness-focused role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage staff, resolve issues, and coordinate cleaning operations.
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure, especially when handling facility-related challenges.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset to ensure efficient facility maintenance and a smooth working environment.
